A Farm EV Charger Starts With the Panel and Where the Truck Parks

The truck does not park where the brochure parked

We still quote farm chargers for a Thief River Falls shop and then learn the pickup sleeps at the grain-site apron, not in the heated bay. Cable length, freeze, and who unplugs at 5 a.m. decide the install as much as the panel. A residential garage charger plan is a different job. This one is a farm truck and a real stall.

Agricultural loads route through agricultural services. House-side work stays on residential services. If the shop feeder is already tight, say so before anyone orders a 48-amp wall unit.

Panel, feeder, and the stall in the same sketch

Photograph the panel directory, the proposed wall, and where the truck actually sits in January. Ice and a blocked stall will kill a charger that looked fine in August. Generator transfer paths belong in the same conversation if this stall is the one you need after an outage. See generator systems.

A second vehicle next year should appear on the drawing. So should whether the grain site already has a loaded dryer season. That surge and panel story is the August 24 post.

What to send

Panel photos, parking photos, and charger amperage if you already picked one. Contact Kieley Electric. More reading is on the blog.

Size the farm charger from the panel and the stall. A brochure wall is not a parking routine.
